Why do you use "wanted" ?
I think I need to use "want".

"want"を使用する必要があるとおもうのですが．
Actually, both can be used in the sentence. However, I used 'wanted' as an adjective which means 'desire' rather than 'want' as a verb that means wish, needs, or plans to do. If you mean the verb one then your sentence is correct.
